Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Microsoft Dynamics Business Analyst to join a long-term contract position in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Microsoft Dynamics ERP solutions and will be responsible for understanding business processes, gathering requirements, and ensuring effective implementation and integration of Microsoft Dynamics solutions. This role is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week onsite in Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Microsoft Dynamics projects.
• Business Process Analysis: Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement through the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics solutions.
• Solution Design & Implementation: Work with technical teams to design, configure, and implement Microsoft Dynamics modules (Dynamics 365 or prior versions), ensuring solutions align with business goals.
• Configuration & Customization: Configure Microsoft Dynamics modules, including but not limited to Sales, Finance, Operations, and Customer Service, to meet business requirements.
• Testing & QA: Develop test scripts, coordinate UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and ensure the implemented solutions meet business needs and functional specifications.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear and continuous communication to manage expectations and ensure successful project delivery.
• Data Integration: Coordinate with IT teams to integrate Microsoft Dynamics with other enterprise applications and databases as needed.
• Documentation & Training: Create documentation related to system functionality, configuration, and usage. Provide end-user training and support on new features and processes.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with new Microsoft Dynamics features and capabilities. Recommend process optimizations and system enhancements based on business needs.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with hands-on experience implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 (or previous versions of Dynamics ERP).
• Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics modules, such as Finance, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, or Field Service.
• Proven ability to gather and document business requirements, design solutions, and ensure effective communication between business and technical teams.
• Configuration and customization experience in Microsoft Dynamics, including form design, workflow configuration, and integration with third-party applications.
• Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and preparing test cases and scripts.
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.
• Strong understanding of business processes in areas such as supply chain, finance, customer relationship management (CRM), and sales.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with business stakeholders and technical teams.
• Ability to document processes, configure systems, and ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certifications (e.g., Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant, Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations).
• Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, or Power Apps for data analytics and workflow automation.
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud and integrations with Dynamics 365.
• Knowledge of data migration strategies for Dynamics 365 implementations.
• Previous experience working with agile development methodologies in a business analysis role.
