We are looking for a Clinical Data Analyst with 10+ years of experience to join a dynamic team in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical data management, data analysis, and data standards. This role requires an onsite presence in New Jersey, and the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of clinical data for various healthcare and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Data Management and Analysis:
- Manage and process large volumes of clinical data from diverse sources, ensuring high levels of accuracy, integrity, and security.
- Apply clinical domain expertise to ensure data consistency and alignment with regulatory and industry standards.
- Identify and resolve data quality issues through root-cause analysis and effective problem-solving techniques.
- Perform complex data validation and reconciliation processes to ensure clinical datasets are complete, accurate, and reliable.
- Clinical Canonical Coding Systems:
- Utilize clinical coding systems such as LOINC, CPT, CVX, ICD-10, and SNOMED CT to classify and encode clinical data.
- Ensure clinical codes are appropriately mapped and aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to maintain and improve clinical code systems, ensuring alignment with current medical practices and policies.
- Provide guidance and support on the correct use of coding systems for clinical data collection and reporting.
- HL7v2 and CCDA Experience:
- Work with clinical data standards such as HL7v2 and CCDA (Consolidated Clinical Document Architecture) to ensure proper data exchange and interoperability between healthcare systems.
- Analyze and interpret clinical data transmitted via HL7v2 messages or CCDA documents, ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare data standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams to integrate clinical data from various sources, leveraging HL7v2 or CCDA data formats as necessary.
- Perform mappings and transformations of data from one format to another, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- SQL Query Development:
- Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze clinical data from relational databases.
- Develop custom SQL scripts to automate routine data analysis tasks, reporting, and data extraction.
- Collaborate with data engineers and database administrators to optimize database performance and ensure efficient data retrieval processes.
- Provide insights based on SQL query results, offering actionable recommendations to improve clinical data collection, accuracy, and reporting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Clinical Data Analyst or similar role with a strong background in clinical data management and analysis.
- In-depth experience with clinical coding systems such as LOINC, CPT, CVX, ICD-10, and SNOMED CT.
- Expertise with clinical data standards like HL7v2 and CCDA, and experience in data interoperability and integration between healthcare systems.
- Proficiency in SQL and experience in writing, optimizing, and automating SQL queries to manage and analyze relational databases.
- Strong understanding of clinical data validation, reconciliation, and data quality techniques.
- Previous experience working in healthcare settings, preferably in clinical research, healthcare analytics, or regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain data integrity throughout the data management lifecycle.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinical and IT teams, to ensure smooth data operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to document and present complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
